How do I make menus like this...

I like the expanding/collapsing left menu bar, also the top "drop down" bar at

http://www.emenutree.com/.

This site produces software to make such menus, but includes a "Thanks To" folder too. The software seems to generate Javascript.

I'd be grateful if someone could point me in the direction of a freebie script that generates this kind of effect (I particularly like the expanding/collapsible menu).
