I recently ran a software audit and discovered 3 of my 7 servers are reporting themselves as WinNT Advanced Server.

1. Is there any way I can verify if these servers are actually running NT Advanced Server?

2. Is there any way I can tell which of my server install CDs has the advanced server install on it?

TIA!! :)

unless you're using pirated software--perish the thought!--it will tell you on the CD what OS it represents...

OK, I hate to sound dumb, but how will it tell me? Is it actually written on the surface of the CD on the CD label, or does it say it on the popup window that comes up when you drop the CD into a running PC?

:-)

It's actually on the CD...

Run Windows NT Diagnostics (under Admin Tools), and it should tell you the Server Type, Version, Build and Service Pack number in there. [auto] MCSE NT4/W2K
