I am trying to find out how I would hide my page source so the viewers can't see my meta tags etc form the page source file on the browsers, is there code to do this and where do I place it. Thanks for any help.

put a layer 100%x100% on your page and put a transparent gif that should work.

Sorry if I am being dumb but how do i make a transparent gif!!! and place layer of 100% x 100% on my file! I don't have too much experience with web, which u can tell
thanks

nm this isnt the way to go why do you want to hide your meta tags by the way cuz you could just put it in a page with a redirect to your main page and then not include them there. this way there is no time for anyone to view your source for the meta

I've noticed on secure site that when you go to view the source this option is not available to the viewer, I just wanted to no how to do this for privacy reasons!
Any other ideas.
Thanks

There are a number of methods to stop the inexperienced from viewing source code or rightclicking images etc... but I dont know of any that will stop a determined person from doing so.

Dynamicdrive.com have some solutions also just do a search on the net for many options The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing. If you can fake that, you've got it made.

Hi all!

Loopsta, why do you want to hide your source? If it's so bad noone will want to see it, otherwise if it's so good anyone who really wants to see it WILL see it!

And again, we all learned a lot from viewing other sources. And I hope you've viewed a lot too. Why do you want to learn and not to show what you have??? That is not HONEST...

Good Luck! :)

In simple terms, you can't "hide" your code when its in a HTML page...all the techninques out there only make it harder for the user to get it, but it doesn't mean it can't be gotten... I have not failed; I merely found 100,000 different ways of not succeding...

I have seen a couple of javascripts floating around that encrypt your html. It is decrypted by the client and so must be fairly easy to break, but it would stop all but the most sophisticated viewer. Users only see garbage when they select view source.

Forget about trying to hide it.

If you don't know how to do it, I'm guessing your code can not be that valuable.

I'm yet to find a site I couldn't view the source from one way or another.

Its how I learn.

Concentrate you efforts on learning something useful.

Yep. Hardly worth the effort IMHO The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing. If you can fake that, you've got it made.

A final comment from me.

What you wish to do is hide the meta tags? There are a zillion or so pieces of software freely available to download that work as a search engine. Even if you managed to hide your code from a browser, these pieces of software would find it.

I figure you are trying to get a top ranking through meta tags, and don't want anyone else to learn them? Its never going to happen The key to high search engine rankings is a lot more than meta tags. You need to gather links to your site as well, if anything they are more important than meta tags.

Concentrate on learning how to do this. It will help you more.

nippi, well said... I have not failed; I merely found 100,000 different ways of not succeding...
