I can't figure out where in exchange to do this... I can't get my backup software user account to get the proper access to the mailboxes to preform the backup/restore.
When I was on 5.5 I just used the exchange system acct
Instead of with EX55 using the service account, you have to specify the correct permissions on different levels now.
a) From exchange system manager, select Organisation (top level) / rightclick delegate control.
Specify the backup service account as Exchange Full Admin
b) Select the Exchange server from Exchange system mgr / properties / security.
Specify "allow" for Receive as and Send as permissions for the backup service account. (if needed, deselect the propagate settings / copy permissions)
c) same as in b) for the Private Information store and public folder store.
