How do i get rid of Msn Messenger 1

Just got Xp and it launches Windows messenger when Booted up.
How do i get rid of it?
Can't see it in ad remove progs??

Knowing MS, you probably can't remove it. If you open it there ought to be an options setting where you can tell it not to start when Windows starts.

Hi hachiman,
Before you try this see if it is in start, run, type msconfig, click on startup tab at top. See if its checked.Uncheck it , hit apply, then ok. Reboot

Try this:
Open regedit
go to : HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{F3A614DC-ABE0-11d2-A441-00C04F795683}\LocalServer32
Back up this key in case you want to put it back
Dlete the entire line to the path MSMSGS.EXE from the "(Default)"String value:double click on it ->delete the entire value data line->click ok or enter
close regedit
It should stop loading Hope this helps!
