We have developed a new intranet (sharepoint based)

We have a few links on the site, but when you click on them, it doesnt launch powerpoint, it launches the ppt in a browser window, and you can't edit the doc.

Im sure this is a registry change somewhere to do with BROWSERFLAGS DWORD 8.

But not sure exactly?

Any ideas guys!?

THANKS!

Not sure if this is what your looking for, but could you use a shell() function instead pointing to the specific file?

Thanks for the reply.

But the setting was

HKLM\Software\Classes\PowerPoint.Show8\ browserflags=(11)

Just this minute sussed it.

manikm,
Open "Explore" (not internet explorer)
"Goto Tools" -> "Folder Options"
Choose the "File Types" tab
Scroll down and pick extension ".PPT" and choose the Advanced button.
Uncheck "Browse in same window"
Hit OK and OK again.
