How do I get JAVA to work?

I'm running XP Home, SP2, and have Java Web Start, which I thought would handle it.
However, anytime I visit a site with java, I get the message that I don't have java, so the site won't load. What do I do to make jave work with the internet?

Go to the site again and look under the address bar and click on the highlighted bar that is just under the address bar and allow the download of the software,

go to

http://WWW.SUN.COM,

there you will find the latest JAVA SRE (V1.4.2_06) for download, install and you are good to go...
