Hi,

I'm sure this is a simple question. I just installed Windows 98 and now I have to logon into my system with every boot. I investigated the CONTROL PANEL and opened USERS, but it was just a Wizard for adding a new user. I'm just not sure where one goes to turn it off. Can someone share some advice?

Thanks,
DanH

Goto Control Panels
Goto Passwords
Click on User Profiles Tab
Check the circular radio button that says:
"All users of this computer use the same preferences and desktop settings."

Thanks for the reply Nate. I went to Passwords/User Profiles and "All users of this computer use the same preferences and desktop settings." was already checked. I tried going to start and logging off, but then I can't see my other computer through the LAN. I thought it might be related to Primary Network Logon, but both systems are set to Windows Logon. I suppose it isn't bid deal to log into one of the systems each time, but I'm afraid after awhile it's going old.

Thanks,
DanH

OH, You are on a LAN, and you don't want to have to enter a password. Sorry, thought you were talking about the plain Windows Users login screen.

Doesn't matter because there is a way to do it. You have to goto: Download TweakUI, install it, then access it from the Control Panels.

Once in the TweakUI control panel goto Logon tab, then check the box that says: "Log on automatically at system starup", and enter in your username and your password, then press apply, and ok, then re-start, and when the login screen comes up, it will suddenly disappear again (that's b/c of TweakUI) and you will never have to enter in a password again (unless you turn it off).

Good Luck [deejay]
