I have Windows small business server 2K3. Have a user on the system that is emailing certain people and need to have those email addresses blocked. Is there a way to restrict outbound email to a specific email address (outside) from a user (inside)?

Hi,

Don't know if this helps or not but you can do it (sort of) with DNS.

1. Check exchange DNS server settings.
- These will be configured to use those that the 'server' uses, else should be in the PROTOCOL->SMTP area of ESM.
2. Ensure that first port of call for DNS resolution is one of your internal DNS servers.
3. Create a new zone for each of the email domains you want to block.
4. Create mx record and corresponding 'A Name' record and point the 'A Name' record to 127.0.0.1 (loopback address)

This means that your exchange server should time out trying to send mail to any of these external recipients' domains.

No idea if this is a viable solution for you but should work..

Goodluck!
