I want to create a user account for gaming, which has programs disabled (Mcafee AV and Firewall) and networking turned off (have NTL Cable broadband on ethernet port) want to have the minimum loaded to run windows and games, but want this restriction limited to this account only. USB needs to work and so do drivers for gamepads. Net access not needed as no online gaming. doing this as am fed up of always trying to stop mcafee (slows the game down alot on loading times) and have having to use task manager to shutdown all running programs before playing and just want a basic start up.

If it annoys Microsoft then it's worth doing, and doing well!!

Are you a member of a domain???

Group policy seems the best bet - It is fairly straigtforward to deny access to all programs with exception of a specified list.

"local machine policy" would also resolve this
