I have made a couple of attempts and nothing.
I am using QuarkXpress 5. To make the bullet I am using ALT+0149 or ALT+Shift+8. The style sheet is not picking up the bullet for some reason.

Please help.

Thanks;

Carlos.

alt shift 8 will give you a degree symbol. Alt 8 will give you a bullet but it is very small. If you want something more bold use Zapf Dingbats (l for a round bullet, n for a square). Zapf messes up the leading so you may need to adjust this to match non-bulleted text. If you don't have Dingbats use webdings (for a small bullet (=) from the top of keyboard or the numeric keypad or wingdings (n) for a large bullet). The small webdings bullet is about right as the large zapf and webdigs bullet is a little overpowering... in my opinion.

To obtain a good indent (and this is better than the invisible alt something favoured by some), go to paragraph formats and, using the leading setting for you text e.g 12pt, say, inseet 12pt in the first field and -12pt in the second field. This will put the bullet flush against the text box. Tab to push the text across to the 12 pt setting. Following lines will automatically wrap to the 12pt setting unless you create a new para with a hard return. A shift (soft) return will retain para settings if you need to separate paras under the the same bullet.

If you want to choose Zapf and return to your preferred font just key Apple-shift Z, type "l" for your round bullet, hit tab to get the indent and resume typing. Your font will then be whatever you were using before you did the Apple-shift Z combination. This trick, unfortunately, doesn't work with Webdings as the Apple-shift W combo is reserved for word underline. There may be another key combination that provides the same font switching but I don't know what it is.

As for a style sheet setting for this I am not sure. I have not progressed beyond para style sheets in Q4... My hints may point you in the right direction though.

Hope this helps

Regards

Tony
