Hiya,

After gaining a fault with one of my switches, I have found that it no longer boots. I have got a copy of the IOS, and all I need to do is copy it over to the switch, but because it has got no file system, I can not boot into it. Can anyone tell me the correct command to get the IOS image back onto the switch?

Many Thanks
Matt

1) copy the new flash (new.bin) to your harddrive

2)
switch: flash init
switch: load helper
switch: copy xmodem: flash:new.bin

3) From the pull-down menu at the top of the Hyperterm window, select Transfer, then Send File

4) Choose the Xmodem protocol in the Send File dialog box. Use the Browse button to select the new.bin IOS

sit back 3 or 4 hours and whalla (note* i usually bump up the baud rate to 115200)
