How do I communicate with one element of a DataList

Here’s my dilemma. I have a number of images in a DataList. What I would like to do is hyperlink to a different page for each image my user click on. The thing is I don’t know how to access each image as a single element in the DataList and associate a different hyperlink for each image. Is this possible? If it is can someone point me in the right direction?
