Hi,
We have a Cisco 2611 router that we are using as our link to the internet, we have a main feed that is using Ethernet0/1, and our backup internet feed on Ethernet1/0 (Ethernet 0/0 is our link to the internal network). Our backup connection used to be a DSL, and it was using a static IP address, so everything was fine. They have since dicontinued that service and we had to switch to another service that uses static address, but you have to request it using DHCP. We currently don't have an IOS that supports DHCP on an interface, but we can upgrade, my question is, this router use to sense when the main internet feed would go down, and switch to the backup feed. Will this still work using DHCP? Anybody using such a setup? Thanks for your help.
Phil
