Folks

Have a problem getting shadowing to work in MF XPs Feature Release 3.

When I go to the MMC console and try to shadow a session. The shadow option, is all greyed out.

I have had a look round at the entries on the forums, I get the feeling the installation may not have installed correctly. Does anyone know how to check it installed correctly?

Also, cshadow.exe does not work, says I need ICA client installed which it is. Have installed newer version. Just awaiting to reboot the server this evening.

Cheers

In Citrix Connection Configuration, ica-tcp, properties, advanced, at the bottom, unselect "inherit user config" for shadowing part, and see what's available.

Have solved the problem. Installing the web client on the server seemed have solved the greyed out shadowing problem.

Weird but true!

Well you obviously did solve it yourself, but yes you need the ICA client (web or PNA) installed to shadow sessions. Some people also have issues where the administrator account used to install Citrix can shadow, but other administrators can't even though they may have permission on the farm to do so. Setting read/execute rights on the %systemroot%\system32\ICA Passthrough folder on the originating server should fix this.

Cheers
