Access automatically sorts numeric and alpha data (e.g. 1,2,3,4,5........ or a,b,c,d,e,f........)

BUT

What if i want to sort;

Apr, Aug, Dec, Feb, Jan, Jul, Jun, Mar, May, Nov, Oct, Sep

AS

Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec....

Thanks

You need to convert the months to their ordinals (1,2,3) to do this. You can make a table that stores the ShortMonth value and the Ordinal value and then link it to whatever you're trying to sort.
