I am using DHCP on NT4.0, however, I would like to assign some WIN98se workstations with a static IP address.

What are the steps involved on the workstation and the server?

First you will need to fing the MAC address of each machine that you want to do this with.

Then in you DHCP manager, under the Scope tab, you will fine Add Reservation.

That will pop up a window, where you will type in the following
IP Address: The IP address you want to give them
Unique Identifier: This is the MAC address
Client Name: User name of the person using the PC
Client Comment: You can put anything here...

Once this is done, get the user to log out and back in.

They should now get the specified IP address that you chose for them.

Hope this helps... mot98..[peace]

Not forgetting to delete the IP from the current leases first if it is already in use.

Chris.
