when your computer makes a connection to their website, they have to know where to send the pages to, ie your ipaddress.

you can use a proxy. and then the website only sees the proxy. ===============

The problem is that we are using a proxy (Unix OS - Proxy is Squid)

What if you are going thru a service provider. Shouldn't the IP address be those of the Service provider, and the service provider should redirect the packets to you.

i think it depends on whether you have a public ip address or not. when you go thru a service provider you are given a public ip.

is the website showing a public or private ip address? ===============

Private IP Address

Have YOU tried the 2 shortcuts I have specified

Can you prevent this without replacing your proxy with a new proxy.....

Can you not send out false ip info. Remember that this is a corporate environment......

Are there any *quick* way to block this....

indeed as with all packets the senders and recipients IP address is sent along with it. If you send someone a letter and you want a reply you have to include your own address don't you?

Anything you connect to is going to know your IP address, why is this a problem ?
