Hello everyone,

I need your help.

I have to track the user login and logout times on to windows NT 4. The users login to the domain from their workstations:

Basically I like to have a scripts that will write a log file such as this:

user name Login time log out time

user1 Nov 11 2001 8:00 AM Nov 11 2001 4:00 pm
user2 Nov 11 2001 9:00 AM Nov 11 2001 4:00 pm
user3 Nov 11 2001 8:30 AM Nov 11 2001 4:00 pm

Can you give any ideas?

Thank you all.

Sina

All I can think is that you'll need a program on the NT 4 domain controller that forwards the login information to a UNIX syslog-based system for logging. Then, you can run a modified syslog that captures the data and logs it to wherever you want.

You probably could even right up a perl script to act like a syslog server on your NT4 domain controller.
