How can I setup a Win2k trust with subnetted servers?

I've got 2 domains at separate locations that are joined by an IPSec tunnel (VPN, but hardware based).
They are on two different subnets: 192.168.111.0 and 192.168.112.0. I can PING the servers from each other just fine, however I cannot create a trust in AD Domains and Trusts, because the other domain cannot be "contacted", although I can PING the server just fine.. Any ideas, or starting points?
