I was zapped by the loveletter virus and most of my gif, dat, jpg files were infected. Is ther a tool to reverse or repair this damage?

How can I repair Loveletter infected jpg.vbs files

Loveletter overwrites those files so the contents are lost and can only be restored from a backup.
