OK, so now I'm down to the last phases of this great book, but need the front matter to be numbered with Roman Numerals, does anyone have any suggestions or shortcut keys that I can use? The front matter is not very long, so technically, I could key it in, but I do prefer to know the "technical" way of doing it.

TIA

The best way to add automatic page numbering to a document is to create a text box on your master page and type the following into it:

Mac: Command (Apple) + 3
PC: Ctrl + 3

It will appear as "<#>", but will become a page number in your document.

To get roman numerals, go to the first page you need to have them. Go to Page > Section... and select "Section Start". In the "Format" drop down list, you should find roman numerals. They will take over the page numbering from then on, unless you define another section start.
