I have a DN that I don't want to assign to a TN but would like all calls to that DN be automatically forwarded to the MCDN - Not sure if this is important - but the DN is mapped to an 800 at our local telco.

Thanks again for everyones help!!

You could use an ACD with MAXP set to 1 and the NCFW set to the MCDN or a phantom number.

So I would take the existing DN and turn it into an ACD then modify the ACD to Night Call Forward to the MCDN -

or use your idc tables to send it to the mcdn.

Yes. Remove all appearances of the DN and add it as an ACD.

2600 is my MCDN. 3168 goes directly to voicemail when called externally or internally. Hope this helps.

Thanks cpm23 - I tried the ACD approach - but it appears that my DN 2451 to which an announcement is attached never forwards to the MCDN 2400 -

Is 2451 an announcement service in the voicemail?

I am in Meridian Mail - but I am not sure where to find the outgoing announcements.

It's been a while since I worked with Meridian Mail. We use Octel. The setup I sent you only gets you to the mail. I didn't see in your original post that 2451 was an announcement. I'll look tonight for my Mer Mail books, but I'm sure someone will help you before then.

for announcement service access. 1st look at the voice dn table.. main menu, option 3 then 4 then 1.. that assigns a dn to a application.. (service id) it also tells you if it's am ann service or a menu.. announcement service is option 3 in that screen and menus are option 6.. couple of points..maxp 1 acd may or may not work, depends on what your trying to do..

acd
xxxx (must be both the number in the voice service dn table and the number the co is sending on the 800)
maxp 1
ncfw xxxx (dn of mail)

if the acd is 1111, i dial 800 xxx xxxx, the co translates to 1111 and sends that on any route, the ncfw of acd 1111 sends me to mail, the mail see the original dialed dn 1111, service table sends that to the app.. works everytime.

the next option, the co send 1111, doesn't work in my number plan, go to 49 prt idc.. if you don't have one, then new idc dcno 1, 1111, xxxx (with x =to the service dn) the on the route data block you make idc=to yes and the next two promts 1.. that translates 1111 to the number you now make a maxp 1 acd... either way the switch has to be told to send that number to mail.. we almost all use the acd route because it takes 3 prompts the acdn maxp 1 and ncfw..
