Hi,
I want to set static IP address' for 6 W2K computers on a peer to peer network but I need to know the IP address of the router so I can setup a gateway for internet access. I know the DNS of the ISP.
Is there an easy way to do this? Will "ipconfig /all" do it?
Thanks for any help :)

Yes, if you type ipconfig at the command prompt in a simple network, then the "default gateway" will be the IP address of your router.

The lazy guy's approach: run a network scanner. The router will appear as a non-Windows device.

Excellent freeware for this purpose: Look@LAN monitor.
There are likely other reasons to have a good lan scanner utility.

Thanks cdogg and bcastner.
That is a really neat little programme bc and yes if you were wondering the query is related to my post you answered earlier.
Hats off to you guys :)
