How can I find out directx drivers

Hi I need to know how I can find out if I have directx 8.1 on my computer.A program I want to install keeps telling me that I don't have it. I did install it from microsoft site and it was directx 9 all 8.1 references pointed to this driver. I have win 2000 profesional. Thanks

C:\Program Files\directx\setup\DxDiag.exe will tell you (assuming that your folders bear the normal names).

I got that information from my Windows 2000 Professional system.

if you've got 9, anything that needs 8.1 should work anyway.

The simple way is to click 'run' and type 'dxdiag' and you'll get all the info. you need.
