How can I directly to an Oracle database?

Hi guys,

How can I remotely access oracle database with out loging in to unix machine?

Do I need to install something in PC?

You should install sql*net software. If you work with Java you need JDBC driver only.

I don't think you can download just the client software, but if you download the Oracle 9i database or the Personal Oracle database, the client install is included. Note that use of the software falls under Technet license agreement -there are limits on the free use of most anything you download from technet.
