How Can I design L3 Network

Hi All,

I am having a Passport 8010 L3 Switch and 425-24T an access layer switches(just two tier architecture).I want to design L3 network.How do I proceed.For example,where do I create VLANs and VTP domain in the core switch or access switches etc.
Please help!!!!
