Hello,

An IOMEGA StorCenter drive is installed and I should backup it...

-It's a network drive with IP Address ( of course)
- I've defined an account on it
- I've defined also a share
- I can connect to the Drive\share with the UNC, ( \\IP Address\Sharename )
- I've defined a subclient wit the share as content but I cannot backup the data. I get the error message :Logon of ./%username% failed with error 1326. Check the user's password and privileges.
- I cannot define more than what I did !

Any idea ? Someone had the same problem ?

regards
azzurri

Hi

When specifiying a UNC path within the fs iDA subclient you must also specify a username/password witin the subclient with rights to access that share

I did !
I used the same user/password defined on the IOMEGA StorCenter to have access to the shared folder, it's also an account in the Domain admin group.
I think it should be enough.

So this is what you have done, yes?

How-to back up and restore mapped drives

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Description:

How-to back up and restore mapped DRIVEs

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Resolution:

Galaxy will not backup NETWORK DRIVEs. This is due largely to the fact that DRIVE assignements may vary from user to user.

The preferred method of backing up NETWORK shares is via Uniform Naming Convention (UNC) (e.g. <\\server\networkshare>).
When defining the contents of the subclient to include a NETWORK UNC Path you must use the"Enter new content"data entry field at the bottom of the subclient properties Content tab dialog window.
Enter the UNC path (e.g. <\\server\networkshare>) and click"Add".
An"Impersonate NT User" pop-up window appears where you can enter an NT User Account and Password with appropriate permissions to access (backup/restore) the NETWORK share.

It should work but, not sure how the IOMEGA is put together..does it have a cut down OS on it where you can login and add users, permissions, shares etc? I know that some NAS devices use a cut down version of Linux and then run Samba to talk to Windows clients..these devices can sometimes have problems.

It works, below the solution.....
Thanks to all
