How are components used?

They can only be installed if they are set up for installation. However, components do not *HAVE* to be installed in order to be used. You can use the unit and the components in it without putting it on the palette. You just get no design-time assistance in using them.
Components with no visual existence or static properties gain little from being installed. Neither my graphics library nor a printing library are installable, but both work fine.
