Hey all

Anyone know what this is.. I'm trying to install a wireless network card in this new motherboard. ECS K7S7AG ... I get an cannot find hotplug.dll and it bluescreens ..I think it's an IRQ conflict .. but i have no idea .. I've tried multiple slots.

Any thought appreciated!
Thanks

Thank you for the reply, but that doesn't sound like my issue and i'm running service Pack 4.

The system also seems to hang for about 1 minute on start up .. which i've assumed to alwasy be network browsing or ip obtaining of some sort .. now it has an onboard network card however i've disabled in the bios and the device manager..

Shmoes,

I cannot be sure on this issue. The system message said cannot find hotplug.dll. Can you find that file in the system? If yes, it may have to register using regsvr32. It is usually called up in the command line:
%SystemRoot%\System32\RUNDLL32.EXE shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll
It's used in the Unplug or Eject Hardware wizard, see for instance:

The hotplug.dll is used to support USB devices. I see no reason why a PCI wireless card would require the .dll at all.

exactly my thoughts bcastner but it only appears after installing it .. and when i remove it .. all is fine ..

tsuji, i'll read up on that link tomorrow thx
