Hotmail and Trend Micro

I did a search within google and then among the pages here at the tek-tips forum and found no answers to my problem. Either it is so simple that no one else has had problems with it or else it just hasn't been annoying enough that people have started posting about it. As you may or may not know Trend Micro recently took away McAfee's virus scanning contract for hotmail accounts. Ever since the switch has occured Trend Micro has recognised ANY attachment as virus infected. =-( I had my doubts so I created a brand new .jpg file scanned it with the most recent norton antivirus and sent it from a telus account to my hotmail account and Trend Micro identified it as infected! I know I am not alone but I don't know what the solution to this problem is? Is there something that has to be set differently in the browswer or is Trend Micro just a piece of $hit? Any help would be appreciated.

Well I would like to point out that I recieved an email containing the latest Bagle virus in it, and TrendMicro did not identify it as a virus. I know it was a virus as it said I sent it to myself and the attachment size and filename was right..

So it doesn't identify all attachments as viruses.... lol.

was it sent to a hotmail account though? I haven't been able to receive any attachements through hotmail....even if they are clean. TrendMicro might work (or not work) as a scanner on its own but I don't think it is working properly within Hotmail....either that or I need to change something on my system?

Yeah it was sent to my hotmail account from supposedly my home account.. so who knows.
