This may be a very simple question. How do I get the intro menu to repeat itself when using the automated attendant? Scenario: A customer call into the business...get's the menu system, misses an option...how do they get the menu to repeat?
thanks in advance

I`m not sure if this may work in your situation, but since you mentioned "menu system" I assume you`re into CCR. You could set up a path 8 lets say, in which you said in your message "to repeat this message press 8". Then make path 8 an info path with a blank recording. I can`t recall the options after creating an info path but I believe they`re something like Home, previous menu, disconnect. Try it with one of the options (obviously not disconnect) depending where you are in your tree.

I guess you could try hitting the star key when you`re in the menu to see where that takes you, depending on how you`re set up and what software version you have. It may work and it`s a little simpler if it does. If you have more than 1 level to your tree, it might take you back to the home menu though. Try this option first. If that doesn`t work try the first one I mentioned...

Here's another idea to mull over... set the operator status permanently off. This will direct 'zero outers' back to the main message to try other options. If this works for you you might even put the 'zero' option in the main message and save a transfer/info point in the process.

Good luck

PS... Sorry should mention if you try my last post, the "Non Business Hrs Greeting" will dominate so it will perforce become the only greeting available if business status is set for "closed"... so leave it always "open"..

Cheers

I agree with Schlum, set up an option off the ccr and set it up as an information mbox to return to the home menu. That should work.
Good luck M.Parnell

Thanks for the info. I think I will setup a information box. However it seems odd that Nortel would not have made provisions for repeating the menu...such as a default "press ##" or something. Anyway thanks again

Schlum is correct, as usual.:) Nortel put out a tip back in 1996 (ITAS TIP-073 June,1996) saying to use an "Info Point" but to record "One moment please" in that point just to let the caller hear something during the delay, then program the destination to be Home or Previous, depending where you are in the tree.
