Is there any way to edit the language/extension profile in order to add new categories for color coding? No big deal... I'd just like to make my list tags a different color from all of my "legitimately" unclassifiable tags. They separate list tags into their own category for everything else... why not the color coding?
Reading through this forum, it seems that:
(a) There aren't that many people using this app (which is a shame), and
(b) Those who do use it seem to think that Macromedia will be dropping it from their product line in favor of WYSIWYG editors. That would be horrific, but after a quick look at their site, it seems that this has already happened. The only reasons I don't use Notepad to code my pages are (1) they get big, and the auto-indent is beautiful for keeping code readable, and (2) for the same reason, color coding is wonderful. The tag validators are nice too.
If Macromedia does drop HomeSite, it had better be because they have completely integrated the entire app as it exists now (or maybe with some enhancements) into Dreamweaver. The demise of text-based code editors will serve only to balloon the percentage of sloppy code on the Web.
