I have two PC's and one hub.
Main PC: XP pro with 2 NICS (same brand)
2nd PC : XP pro with one NIC

All I am trying to do is share my internet connection.
I am having a hell of a time setting up internet sharing with ICS. so I decided to used Sygates Home Networking software. It seems to work fine when both pcs are on.
currently the 2nd pc is turned off. when i came to main pc to surf the web all i get is "page cannot be displayed" I then completely turned off Sygate Home Networking and the problem still persisted. I then disabled the second Nic on the system (Home Lan nic) and it finally worked. thing is what the heck is going on. I should be able to use both computers simultaniously without any screw ups, i just can't see what it can be. I don't think its with sygate.

Hi,

You do not mention how you are connected to the internet. Why the two NICs? -does the main PC act as proxy? How many IPs do you have (from your ISP)?

If you get your connection from a modem with LAN connector, then consider a router. If you get your connection from a router, then use a switch or that hub you've got.

1 IP, modem (with LAN) connection will look something like this:

--Modem--router--hub-->> PCs

Post more details for further help §;O)

Hi..got it fixed. thanks. the problem was with my wiring configuration and with a setting on my LAN NIC- apparantly i don't need to enter a default gateway on my internal NIC.
