This is strange.

I am using Addusers.exe to create a large number of users, this includes specifying a home folder.

I then use md and xcacls to create home folders and set the permissions.

The path is \\servername\users$\username.

All appears to be ok but when the user logs in, the home folder is not mapped. The permissions are correct as I can map a drive manually ok.

If I go to the user profile and remove the homedir path, apply, type the new path and apply again it works!

I really don't understand this, I have chacked my typing over and over again!!

Any ideas anyone????

I have nopw tried using net user to set the home folder. Appears to work but again, the folder isn't mapped!

Appear to need to be set in the GUI for some reason.

I don't understand! Is there something 'odd' about users created with addusers?

-well theres a difference; when creating users they ask for
User Profile Path: this is the roaming profile path
Home Directory
Connect: <--this is the mapping of home drives; if it doesn't map the first time, do it physically and it will stay afterwards
