Hits Counter

Hi all, was wondering how i go about setting one of these up?
I have had a look on the net and most of the counters I found make you credit them (with a logo or something) to be able to use them..could be wrong about that...but yeah, are there some scripts around for this or is it a bit more complicated than that?
