I have a PCG-z505lsk that I know it has high speed usb port. But everytime I have to plug in a high speed device ex. ipod. I will get this message stating I have a high speed device connected to non high speed port. How do I fix this?

Is the port enabled to be USB 2.0? Are the drivers loaded so the system can recognize USB 2.0 ports (do the ports show up in the System Device List)? I know for my system I have to load USB 2.0 drivers to be able to get high-speed use of the ports.

Do you have anything else that's USB 2.0 capable to try in this port?

THere is normally a driver of some sort that you have to load in to tell the system that it is USB2 otherwise it just assumes USB1.1 by default.

Sorry but the Sony support site shows the PCG-Z505 series, including the PCG-Z505LSK, has only USB 1.0 ports.

In the Sony eSupport Knowledge Base have a look at Knowledge Article C211592 to see a list of USB support speeds by model at for more info.

Hope this info helps...

I wonder if there's anything I can buy to make it high speed 2.0.

If your laptop has a cardbus or PCMCIA slot, you could get a usb 2.0 adapter.
