Does anyone know how to find the total count of a group including all its children and grandchildren when you use CR 8.0 hierarchical grouping?
For example.
    GrandMa
    ¦ ¦
  Jane Sara
  ¦ ¦ ¦
Jen Lisa Shannon

I want to know how to find out how many kids, grandkids grandma has.
Sorry for the really cheesy example but I figured this is the simplest example of what I'm looking for.

hello all

i am trying to do a hierarchical report in v9 (for the first time) and cant seem to get it working.

i follow the instructions in the help, creating a group which has the key feild and then going into the hierarchical dialogue box. in the box it lists my feild as avalilable to group on (left side of box), but when i try to set the parent id (bottom right once tick box checked), the one i want is simply not on the list.

yes the data type is the same for both feilds, and i have tried it both ways around.

i am flummoxed.

Dear Danokim,

If you have Grouped Hierarchical, a new option in the Insert Summary dialog appears: Sum accros Hierarchy.

Choose that and see if you getthe desired result.

Hope that helps,
