hiding part of returned url

Hi there,

i have

http://www.mysite.com

pointed to mymachine.ac.uk
It hits apache and i do a rewrite and then a JkMount.
The rewrite appends /stuff to

http://www.mysite.com

while the JkMount directive tells it to speak to Tomcat on another machine and retrieve the info i want.

So myOTHERmachine.ac.uk/stuff is retrieved and displayed.
In the URL bar

http://www.mysite.com/stuff

is displayed

Is it possible to just have

http://www.mysite.com

displayed in the URL bar? 'Losing' the /stuff
