Hi

When I use the classic start menu, win xp only shows the programs I use often and then displays a little arrow for me to check if I want to display the other programs I have installed. But I dont get that arrow when I use the default start menu. Can I get this function in this start menu to?

At the bottom of the MFU list is the More Programs menu, which displays other programs that are installed.

Hi

None of those link seems to help me with this problem. Very frustrating, I dont want to see all my installed programs when I press all program, I only want to see the programs I use often, just like the intelligent menu should work......

Can you right-click on any programs you don't want to see and choose Remove?

I do not believe that the feature that you want is possible with the XP Start Menu, only the clasic Start Menu. The setting that controls this within the Classic start menu is "Use personalised Menus". This is not an availible setting in the XP Start menu

OK, thats to bad though. That feature should have come handy...

Start Button/ Properties/ Start Menu/ Customize / Advanced/ Start Menu Items/ Scroll Programs.

Specifies whether to display the items on the Programs menu as one long scrolling menu or as horizontal pages. Depending on your screen resolution, if you have more than 29 or 38 programs installed, and you select to have one long scrolling menu, you can access the programs you don’t see by clicking the arrow at each end of the list of programs.

Any programs on that list can be deleted by right-clicking on the name and selecting delete (they're just shortcuts).
