One of the users of my machine should only be allowed to log on and use Internet Explorer and to see her My Documents folder. I have manged to remove all unwanted options from the start menu by tweaking her NETUSER.DAT. She will only see the D: drive where her My Documents folder is placed. The options left in the Start Menu are Internet Explorer, Log Off and My Documents.

But when she opens her My Documents folder, she has the possibility to go up to the Desktop and there she have access to My Computer, My Network Places and Recycle Bin.

Is there a way to hide My Computer, My Network Places and Recycle Bin? She still needs access to her My Documents.

In short: She is only allowed to log in (remotely), starting Internet Explorer, doing downloads and then log off again. She has a dial up connection, while I have ADSL. In that way she saves a lot of time by downloading to my machine. I then copy her downloads to a CD.
Thanks!

is this pc running solely for that purpose? then i would simply uninstall the file and folder sharing option under the network settings. this way she cant share nor access shared folders. of of you cant either but if the burner on that pc no problem
