Hidden Computer 2

I was asked a question I thought I'd post here:

Is there a way to have a hidden computer on the lan? (i.e. can you use the name$ to hide the whole computer, not just the shared directory?)

I didn't think the dollar sign would work, but anyone have another way?

The purpose is to have a PC, running specialized security software, that periodically renames itself in the AD and fetches a different IP from the DHCP server. Kind of a roving patroller...

Use net command, for example "net config server /hidden:yes".
