Hi ppl,

need some help here.

Well, I used to have WinAmp on my PC.
I unistalled it a few days ago, and when I pop in a CD into my PC, I will get an error window that says that it cannot find the program "Winamp" to play the CD.

I tried to make the CDplayer the default program type to play the CDs, but to no avail.
Any advise?

Thanks!

If you have Windows Media Player. Try this:

Tools => Options => File types

Allow WMP to play audio CDs....

Do a search of your hard disk for winamp.exe. Then create a shortcut onto your Desktop for it by drag and drop.

Hey man, what I want is to actually let CDplayer play my CDs, not Winamp, but the PC keeps finding Winamp tp playit though I had already unistalled it.
U got any idea how to make it use the CDlayer instead and stop prompting me with the "Winamp.exe not found" error??

Thanks man!

Valkyrie77:

Go to Tool>Folder Options>File Types as said above...BUT scroll down to "Audio CD" and/or "Audio CD Playback"...
click on "Audio CD"
click "Edit"
under "Actions" click "Play"
click "edit"

Browse to the CD player Executable you want to use....
(i.e. C:\WINDOWS\CDPLAYER.EXE )

Oh yeh:
View the other "Audio CD Playback" under "File types" also and if one of the Programs for "Play" points to WinAmp...delete(Unregister) that File type, by clicking on it....and then "Remove"
I have 3 different for 3 diff players..
Audio CD = DVD Cinemaster(ResMngr)
Audio CD Playback = Real Player
Audio CD Playback = NeroPlayer

More than likely the default one for CDPlayer.exe is
"Audio CD"
