Hi it is CM/SM/SMGR 8.1 installed at site with all users using IP phone with H.323 firmware. Yesterday at morning all phones went down for around 35 minutes and automatically came up. I checked the history file from ASA but could not found any error or warning message. Admin IT is asking for the Log file showing that the system or all IP phones went down. From where i can find such Log file?

Thanks Pal, Does this folder have a single Log file or it has a specific file having the Logs?

Sounds like you had a failover to the ess or if you don’t have an ess your main CM went down. If you have an ESS are your DHCP scope options setup correctly to include the ESS?

Not real clear on exactly what you have. Is this a duplex or simplex? If duplex, does your router support Gratuitous ARP? Using Media Gateways (G4x0) or Cabinets (G650)? If G650 are you using procr of CLAN boards for registration.

You should be able to find out what happened. In CM run 'display init' which would show you if the system restarted (35 minutes doesn't sound like it). From the Web Interface you can review system logs (or from CLI). They can be cryptic. Of course since you are on 8.1.x you have a support contract and you can open a ticket with Avaya to review the issue.

Of course the networking team wants you to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt it was there issue before looking.....

it is simply a redundant CM at a site on version 8.1. One is active and other is on standby.
