hi im joey a clipper 5.3 programmer. I am using 2 clipper compilers 1 is clipper 87 and the other one is the 5.3 compiler. My problem is whenever I run my programs and directed the output into a file, and at the same time print
it on the printer using the <type filename.ext> >prn directly to dos surely this routine works. But If I will run
another program that directs the output to the printer. My printer doesnt print anymore.I would reboot the workstation before my program will again print directly to the printer.Could you help me on this matter.. thanks

Hi, Joey

I think your print output is staying in the print buffer because it has never received a form feed (chr(12)) to force a page eject.

I use a little file with a form feed in it which I create from a DOS prompt like this:

copy con tof
^L^Z
and hit enter.
This will create a 1-byte file called tof with a form feed (CTRL-L) character in it. Then when I want to print:

copy file.txt prn (or use type file.txt>prn)
copy tof prn
