Hi Everyone

Since installing REALONE, I've been having a problem. When away from my desk, my computer goes into power saving mode, as it should do, but when I move the mouse to wake it up, I get a black screen with a cursor blinking in top left, then a lot of HDD chatter. Suddenly the desktop icons appear and all seems OK, until I try to get connected to the internet either through IE6 or OE6. I then get this message,

"Dial Up Networking cannot start. Restart your computer and try again. If this problem persists try re-installing Dial Up Networking"

I have uninstalled REALONE, and re-installed Win98, but the problem is still there. Any suggestion?

Thanx for thatrenowned

Yeah, I know it doesn't make sense, but I didn't choose the name.

I've done what you suggested and so far it seems OK, but I have only let the PC snooze rather than go into hibernation, so I'll keep an eye on it and let you know the outcome.

Strangely, whilst on the Microsoft site, I downloaded the security updates for IE6 only to find that when I attempted to open it, I got the message "This requires Internet Explorer 6.0 to be installed", I clicked OK but nothing happened.

I then thought that perhaps I had reverted back to 5.5 and decided to delete everything to do with IE 4,5.0,5.5, but it was still the same.

Anyway, we'll eventually find the truth or format the drive and have another great day.

Thanx so far.

Hi Everyone

Another day and the same problem as before. I can get around the problem by checking the "Never" option on turning off the hard disk, but that defeats the exercise. My virus database is up to date and I haven't recently had any software changes other that REALONE.

Any other ideas?

Disregard the previous message about keeping the HDD alive, it still goes off and the original problem exists.

Seems like some part of REALONE installation, takes over part of the system so that it can connect itself to REALONE website. Does anyone know how REALONE achieves this? Which file should I be looking for?
