Hi,

Can someone tell me how "ODBC Socket Data Source" works. For instance, in the store exampleapp that is shipped with Coldfusion MX, how is the datasource created and where is the database and the tables.

i don't knwo the underlying workings of the socket driver but I do know that the ODBC Socket Drivers point at the windows ODBC Data Sources (Control Panel->Administritive Tools->Data Sources->System DSN)

In here you will find all of the data sources that are setup on your machine. If you click on ExampleApps and then click Configure on the right hand side you will see that the database is located in the yourDrive:\CFusionMX\DB directory where yourDrive is where you installed CF !
