Hi friends,
here i got a good question for you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got one cisco L3 switch and two L2 switch and my L3 is having 4 VLANS. Consider each VLAN as subnet 1,2,3 & 4. VLAN1 network is used for my ADS server and my two L2 switches is connected to VLAN2 & VLAN3. Up till here I hope you got the exact picture of my network.
Now the problem I'm facing here is I want to add one computer each which belongs to 'subnet 1' on both L2 switch. Unfortunately both my L2 switch do not support VLAN. So can you guys got any idea to challange this issue

bobsdec03,

l3 switch:

port 1 -> vlan 1 : ADS server
port 2 -> vlan 1 : l2switch 1 port 1
port 3 -> vlan 1 : l2switch 2 port 1
port 3 -> vlan 2 : l2switch 1 port 2
port 4 -> vlan 3 : l2switch 2 port 2

give the workstations an ip-address in vlan 1. I have not tried it but it should work.

I wonder though... that layer 3 switch.. You are talking about subnets. does it route between vlan's? if so... why not just put a workstation in vlan 2 and a workstation in vlan 3?
