I have a separate internal Drive (E:) that I kept all my data files on...The computer was running slowly, so I rebooted...When I did, the recommended scan of files/folders of E: was automatically done. It found some clusters that were damaged and fixed them. Now, when I double clicked on drive, it tells me that Drive E needs to be formatted and it cannot retrieve any files...Not Good...Any ideas what happen and how I can get my files back. Thanks!!!!!

. run chkdsk /r again from the Recovery Console. See if it brings the drive back to life.

While in the Recovery Console have a look at the "FixMbr" command too.

This drive didn't have any Windows on it...strictly a data files drive.
