Open a recordset which loops through the records and performs the calculation, adding in a value from a variable which is the prior total. Place the new total in this variable. Then read the next record and run the calculation again using the value in the variable in the calculation. etc, etc.

Check help for the RunningSum property. That might also work for you and be a lot simpler.

Hi there, i got your name from one of the forums on the net

i'm tring to this in access, ( in execl its easy but not sure if that could be done in access )

i created this in a subform :

Received Sold SubTotal Total
3 2 1 1
5 6 -1 0
5 2 3 3

I was able to make the SubTotal to calculate automatically , but my problem is in the Total colum, i can't make it add the Subtotal to the previous Total entry, , i figured i should be using the running Sum, but i read the help file, but i didn't go too far, ,, any help on that issue, or the command i should use to resolve this,

any help will be greatly appreciated

thanx in advance
